my life in clip art

every year, our hospital has a safety fair that requires all its employees to attend.  as i was browsing some of the posters on display , a certain clip art picture posted on one of the posters caught my eye.

i couldn't figure out why, but the picture looked oddly familiar. i kept staring at it and told two of my co-worker friends to come look at the picture. we stood there for about 10 seconds trying to figure out why the clip art seemed so familiar, and it suddenly came to me, and i exclaimed, " THAT'S US!!"

so aside from the track suits, the interesting hairdos, and the trophy... it's pretty obvious that it's us in that clip art picture.

we're an inspiration to microsoft office clip art, gotta be proud of that... it's like we're famous

shhhh-cow-go

i'm back from the windy city and i am SICK. apparently 37-48 degree weather isn't short sleeve weather... who would have thought .  i mean come on, i've been spoiled by texas weather

before leaving for chicago, i asked one of my chicago friends to describe the weather to me and help me prepare for what i'd like to call, the most painful, numbing, exciting trip yet of 2008.

me: what's the weather like in chicago?
friend: mmhmm... upper 40s?
me: uhhh, i don't understand.
friend: *pause* what don't you understand?
me:  i just don't understand that kind of temperature. is that like heavy coat weather?
friend: *sigh* it's like north face fleece weather
me: i don't have a north face fleece
friend:*sigh*

so apparently i'm really bad at interpreting and understanding the weather... cause i packed short sleeves and flip flops, my bad. that's why i think i need a friend that's a meteorologist... not only to get updates on the weather, but to be able to tell ppl, "i have a friend that is a meteorologist".  i don't think many ppl can say that.. or actually i should say,  i have yet to meet someone that knows a meteorologist.  do you really think most meteorologists look at all those radars and such? i bet there's only ONE meteorologist that actually looks at all the radars and all the other ones just google or weather.com it... or that's what i would do . and i definitely think that's what this guy does...

anyway, chicago was fun, got to see my family, old friends, enemies, and some of my most favorite people in the world .  it was good to get a break from texas, that's for sure.

it was especially good to see my parents, cause they're kind of hilarious . in order to get around chicago, we borrowed a friend's GPS to navigate our way from place to place.  my mom, old-school, printed out all these maps from mapquest and highlighted all these different routes to prepare for the trip. my dad, on the other hand, was heavily dependent on the GPS device, and refused to ever look at a map.  one night as we were trying to find our way back to the hotel, we used the GPS to help us navigate our way home.  that night it was windy, cold, and rainy... we even saw some snow! thankfully we got back to the hotel safely and as my dad parked the car, he let out a big sigh of relief and said, "THANK YOU ..." and in my head i thought he was about to say JESUS, but instead he said, "THANK YOU GPS!"  i quickly proceeded to correct him, "don't you mean JESUS, dad?" and my dad quickly said, "AND Jesus".

my dad is now a thorough believer of GPS devices, like most guys are .
